Here is what's on my mind

Wow, it has been awhile since I have written anything in this blog. Just a quick update before I go on with this post. Gave birth to a beautiful, gorgeous little baby boy named Ephraim Tobias. God is so good. The birth went very well and I was blessed through the whole experience. So here I am, the baby is now 3 months old and we just celebrated Christmas. Time seems to just fly these days. I am so excited about what the Lord is going to do this year. My prayer is for my family and I to grow so ever more with the Lord. To know Him like we have never known Him before. To walk in His ways and to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE as He loves us. Lately I have felt like I have been on edge. I have felt like "life's" pressures our knocking on my door. Pressures of schooling, cleaning, and you name it. But why? I ask. Why do I let these things bother me oh so much. There is no reason for it. Why do I get so frustrated when my kids are not understanding what I am teaching or why t...

Just checking in!

I haven't been posting lately because my computer had been down. Now we have it back again but lost the AC adapter. I've been using my hubby's computer. I don't get to use it much during the week. I have some time now so decided to fill you in on what is going on in our home. Well, we finally decided to get rid of our televisions. I had one of those inspiring yet hectic days and decided to unplug the televisions. I got rid of my little one in my bedroom. Our main television is still in the family room but we have not turned it on at all. We might just move it into the garage and bring it out when our family feels like watching a movie together. How has it been thus far with no t.v.? There have been some good days and not so good days. My toddlers are not asking anymore to watch t.v. I guess this is a good thing that they have forgotten there is not t.v. My teenager (he just turned 13 the other day) had a few bad days of withdrawal from playing his Game station. He did ...

Happy Mother's Day

As I focus on the blessings in my life. I think of how blessed I am to bring forth life. I treasure this gift so much. I treasure the gift of giving birth to my wonderful children. What an awesome experience!!! I was thinking the other day---that I have yet to meet a pregnant mommy who doesn't have the glow of motherhood. I can see it in their eyes. These mothers love the fact that a new life is growing in their womb. A wonderful and treasured miracle. What joy motherhood is to me. What a true blessing in my life. Every mother needs to sit back and consider that bearing children is not just something that just happens but it is a gift from the Father in Heaven. A gift that can not compare to anything in this world. No worldly treasure can bring the joy that motherhood brings. Nothing! So today I thank my God who has blessed me this Mother's Day with 7 wonderful and beautiful children. Be Blessed today on this wonderful day. Blessings

Half-way there!!!

I am almost at the 20 week mark in my pregnancy. That means halfway there---wow! This pregnancy is going by fast. I hardly feel pregnant. I am growing-- in the belly and other areas -- Ha ha ha. But this time I really don't even feel much discomfort of being pregnant. God has truly blessed me and answered my prayers. I remember with the other pregnancies I would sit and complain about everything. I would say--I am tired; I feel fat; I have back pains; I feel sick; etc... I can go on. Now when people ask how I am feeling, I say---I feel great!!! I also remember how I couldn't wait for my due date to arrive. Now I am just living life and enjoying every moment of being pregnant. This baby is very calm and quiet. I remember with Tsavah and Kole my third and sixth, they were jumping all over the place. This little one is so calm, I hardly notice the baby there. This is another reason why I feel like I am not even pregnant. I do feel the baby a few times a day. I feel little gentle t...

Enough with the Excuses!!!

I just read a post from the author of Managers of Their Homes , Teri Maxwell. I think she had a powerful and encouraging message to moms who struggle to wake up in the morning. I titled this post "Enough with the excuses" because I seem to make many excuses as to why I need to sleep in just a little bit longer. Lo and behold, what seems to happen is this "little bit" turns into later than I ever intended. Which then I have no time for God, which then makes my day seem so overwhelming with so many tasks left undone and may I add my attitude towards my family "STINKS". I hope you are encouraged to stop making excuses and make a change. Blessings!! From Night Owl to Morning Lark Regularly I am asked questions that revolve around the struggle a mom has to get up in the morning at the time she both needs and wants to arise. This appears to be a common problem for stay-at...

The Lord, our HOPE

When you feel like your days are overtaking you, this is the time to sit back and really take a breather. Think about the blessings you have and about how blessed you are because your hope is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The hope we have in Him is so awesome. Just think about it!!!! I can get so caught up in my day to day and then I start to grumble and complain about how laundry is behind or the house is a mess or you haven't been to the grocery store in weeks and it is time to plan for the monthly shopping, UGH! Does this all matter in the Light of Eternity? Does this really matter? Yes, laundry, chores, and grocery shopping are important. But there is no reason to get so bogged down---This is what I tell myself. Today was one of those days that I am thankful that I have God on my side. That He is my hope. Once a month a group of us from church pass out bread and goodies to those in need. During our trip I met a woman who really touched my heart. She seemed like she had given up on ...

I am Feeling Wonderful!!

I am 12 weeks today. Yeah!!! I am feeling great. The sick feeling ended about two weeks ago. I woke up realizing I had not been feeling nauseous. I started to wonder if everything was okay with the pregnancy. I quickly threw those fears out the window and praised God for blessing me with a good First Trimester. My first trimester was not bad at all really. Yes, I complained a bit but in reality, it was good. I had some bouts of vomiting but not serious. The nauseous was come and go, and the foggy, emotional mind was---well, a bit hard to handle. But with much prayer and asking God to lift this fog--He has been faithful. I am still sleepy but just in the afternoon and around dinner. I don't normally take naps during the day because I feel I need to be doing something. I have decided to exercise during the afternoon when the tired feeling is setting in. If I get my blood pumping then I will feel refreshed. But of course I will rest and nap when I know I really need it. I know I am...
